Can I Treat Periodontitis At Home

The irony with periodontal diseases like gingivitis and periodontitis is that these are very painful but are equally as common, people have an issue with it and sometimes they ignore the early signs and suffer because of that, and you could be on the verge of something similar if you don’t take care of your oral health and eat things late at night and don’t rinse, floss or brush your teeth before going to bed and especially if dessert and sugar intake is high, the pain would be so severe that you would rush to a dentist or a periodontist and no home cure or remedy would suffice, but there are a few things that can help you if the situation hasn’t got out hands yet and this would ease the pain and following home remedies were given to me by my periodontist in Pacific Beach, CA.

If you are feeling a sharp pain or the symptoms are that a periodontal disease has set in then you can do a few things that at home that actually work but that doesn’t mean that you can completely treat periodontitis at home because these are prevention measures and things would ease the pain for a while but not completely treat the issue which is a serious one, when you have just started to feel the pain you can use salt in lukewarm water and rinse your gums with it, repeat this multiple times throughout the day and it will help ease the pain a bit.

The second tried and tested method is to swirl a tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth but you have to constantly do it for more than twenty minutes which would be a challenge, this reduces bacteria and helps reduce the pain as well.
